Weam Shahin Defends Comprehensive Examination

Graduate student, Weam Shahin, successfully passed his comprehensive examination on March 22, 2011 in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. The title of his proposal was "Characterizing the Effects of Apocynin Treatment on Neurogenesis in the Adult Sub-Ventricular Zone". Weam received his M.D. and M.Sc. in Basic Medical Sciences, at Faculty of Medicine, Menoufiya University, Shebin-Elkom, Egypt, and began his graduate studies in Dr. John Engelhardt’s laboratory in 2008. He will continue his thesis work focusing on Effects of Nox inhibition on Neurogenesis in the adult mouse CNS. Congratulations, Weam!
