Lab Holds it's Annual Picnic

June 25, 2011

 

The annual Engelhardt Lab Picnic was held on Saturday, June 25th at John and Susie Engelhardt's home. Though the heavy rains earlier in the afternoon forced the picnic inside, lab members and their families were still treated with good food and good fun. It was during this day's event, the Engelhardt Lab also bid farewell to many of it's members.

 

Undergraduate student, Kelly Deatsch, started in the Engelhardt lab in August, 2007 and in the last couple of years, has worked primarily with Dr. Netanya Spencer.

Kelly has been accepted to Physical Therapy school at Rosalind Franklin University, North Chicago, Illinois.

 

Undergraduate student, Elizabeth Stroebele, begain work the Engelhardt lab in August 2009. She has recently been working primarily with Dr. Nicholas Keiser.

In the fall, Elizabeth will start Grad School at the University of Iowa Biology Department.

 

Dr. Qiang Li was accepted into the Anatomy and Cell Biology Graduate Program in 1999 under the mentorship of Dr. Engelhardt. He received his PhD in March 2004 and continued his training as a postdoctoral research scholar, then became a research investigator and then an assistant research scientist.

Dr. Li and his family relocated to the Washington DC area, where he will further pursue his research career.

 

The lab will miss these individuals for their unique skills and talents and we wish them well in their future endeavors.
