Engelhardt Receives Graduate College Mentoring Award November 29, 2011
John Engelhardt (left) with Graduate College Dean, John Keller (photo by John Riehl) On Tuesday, November 29th John Engelhardt was one of two University of Iowa faculty members honored during a reception and ceremony at the Levitt Center for University Advancement as he received the 2011 Graduate College Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award: Biological and Life Sciences. Dr. Engelhardt came to the University of Iowa in 1997 and is currently Professor and Head of the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. This award, written in support by a number of past and present University of Iowa doctoral students and colleagues, carries with it a $2,500 stipend and a plaque presented by Dean John Keller. The Award Committee made recipient decisions based on excellent research guidance, general assistance to graduate students, impact on students individually and as a group and preparation for career decision making and advancement.
